The Red and White squad secured their spot by finishing second in the Grand Final, narrowly missing the top position to Pakistan, which emerged as the champion of the competition.

Coach Highlights Team’s Progress

Richard Permana, head coach of the Indonesian PUBG Mobile national team, shared his thoughts via ANTARA, emphasizing the team’s marked improvement throughout the qualifiers. “We have come a long way from the opening stages of the tournament to the Grand Final. It’s clear that the team has transformed its gameplay significantly,” he stated.

“PUBG Mobile also secured our place among the 12 teams in the Grand Final. We finished second. Pakistan, the PMGO world champion in June 2026, secured the second place,” said Richard Permana.

Permana noted that Pakistan would be a formidable opponent in the upcoming main event. Despite this, he expressed confidence in Indonesia’s ability to compete at the highest level. “The Red and White team’s performance has improved by 180 degrees compared to the first day of qualifying,” he added, highlighting the team’s resilience and adaptability.

The coach also revealed that the team’s performance in Vietnam, while commendable, did not fully showcase their capabilities. “We believe the results in Vietnam are just a small glimpse of what the Indonesian PUBG Mobile national team can achieve. We will continue refining our strategies during the national training camp to ensure we are ready for the main draw in Aichi-Nagoya,” he explained.

Permana credited the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI) for its critical role in the team’s preparation. “The support from PB ESI has been instrumental in everything we’ve done. It has helped us with the coaching process, player adaptation, and implementing the game systems designed by our team,” he said.

Fazriel Haikal Aditya, a player on the squad, echoed the sentiment of gratitude, addressing the nation’s support during the challenging phases of the qualifiers. “Thank you for supporting the Indonesian National Team. The Indonesian PUBG Mobile national team is composed of five players: Fazriel Haikal Aditya, Juventino Ryan Jeremy R., Micho Ananda Pratama W., Muh Fathyn Zilhaq S., and Sharfan Syahman Shodiq.
