Tempatdonasi.com – TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto saluted former President Joko Widodo during the 80th anniversary ceremony of the Indonesian National Police, or Bhayangkara Day, held at the Mobile Brigade Corps Training Center in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday, July 1.Based on Tempo's observation, Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived at the ceremony at around 07:55 AM local time. Before the event began, the president greeted invited guests individually, including Widodo—widely known as Jokowi—and former Vice President Jusuf Kalla.As he approached Jokowi, Prabowo raised his right hand to his temple in a military-style salute before shaking hands with his predecessor.This year's Bhayangkara Day commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Police under the theme, "80 Years of Polri's Service to the Community."The ceremony was attended by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto.Several members of Prabowo's Red and White Cabinet also attended, including Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Maman Abdurrahman, and Deputy Coordinating Minister for Legal, Human Rights, and Security Affairs Otto Hasibuan.Other attendees included National Economic and Industrial Council (DEN) Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Puan Maharani, Regional Representative Council (DPD) Speaker Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, MPR Deputy Speaker Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Sunarto.The ceremony featured tactical demonstrations and a parade involving personnel from various Indonesian National Police units.National Police spokesperson Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir said the event also showcased the police force's vehicles, equipment, and specialized gear, including domestically manufactured products."The locally made products demonstrate the nation's independence and sovereignty, alongside various innovations and community assistance programs," Johnny said in a written statement.The celebration also included an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding police personnel.
